The latest innovation in garden machinery from STIHL, the RMI 422 iMow Robotic Mower is a smart investment that completely removes the need for you to physically mow the lawn ever again, with an effective mowing range of up to 800 m°. The iMow is a fully autonomous machine that drives around several times a week to keep grass neatly trimmed to a pre-specified height. With its specially developed mulching blade, it finely shreds the grass clippings and deposits them back down to act as a natural fertiliser, keeping your lawn looking healthy and tidy. The iMow is so quiet that it is even suitable to set it to mow at nighttime, with no chance of it disturbing neighbours or wildlife. It is also capable of traversing slopes up to a 35% gradient, or roughly 20°.

The iMow will intuitively avoid obstacles defined by its perimeter wire, effortlessly manoeuvring around flower beds, patios, trees, and bushes. If it comes into contact with an unknown obstacle, such as a newly planted tree, sensors within its hood will detect the contact and the machine will come to an immediate stop, then turn and continue in another direction. This prevents accidents where the iMow might otherwise run over low obstacles or injure someone's foot. Other safety and security features include immediate stop protection if the machine is lifted or picked up, and an optional PIN can be inputted to protect against unauthorised use.

When it needs to charge, the iMow will drive itself back to its docking station and replenish its Lithium-Ion battery, resuming mowing at its next specified time. You can set the iMow's mowing schedule, dictating its active hours, by lifting up the sun-proof cover and accessing the bright LCD display. The iMow is completely weatherproof, but you can set it to not mow when it is raining, and it will instead stay in its docking station.
